R J Braverman received a Patent and ATF classification for the Stinger Pen Gun design in 1991 and licensed American Derringer to market the gun under the name Model 2 Pen Gun. In 1992 Braverman took control of the project and marketed the gun as the Stinger Pen Gun. It garnered a dedicated following due to its status as the only pen gun approved and classified as a non-NFA pistol by the ATF.
The passage of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act in 1993 disrupted our ability to maintain a high production level in 1994.
